HALLOWEL — The public is invited to attend The Harlow’s Barn Party, a fundraising event taking place Saturday, June 29, in East Winthrop.
During the day, 15 artists will make artwork on location in response to the historic barns of Old Village Road in East Winthrop. The artwork produced from the day will then go up for bid during a silent auction to benefit programming at the Harlow, which is a membership based 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to connecting and celebrating art, artists and community in downtown Hallowell.
Participating artists are Valerie Porter, Augusta; Rebecca Hedgpeth, Brunswick; Paul Cyr and Angie Blevins, Hallowell; Robert Kahler, Lisbon Falls; Jeanne Ouellette, Lovell; Edward Buonvecchio and Helene Farrar, Manchester; Judith Schuppien, Pittston; Nathan Allard, Somerville; Lisa Kyle, Waldoboro; Gale Davison, Waterville; Kay Morris and William Cesario, West Gardiner; Penny Markley, Winthrop.
From 4 to 7 p.m., all are invited to congregate at the host barn (the location will be disclosed to ticket holders) for an after party and the silent auction fundraiser. Beverages and appetizers will be provided. Bidding for the silent auction will be open from 4:45 to 6 p.m. Proceeds from the silent auction will be split 50/50 between the Harlow and the artists.
