Mount Vernon Community Center events include bird walk, Golden forum

MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Community Center has a number of events scheduled for the coming weeks.
The Community Center is at 2 Main St.

The annual bird walk, is at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the parking lot of Dr. Shaw Memorial Library, 344 Pond Road.
It will be led by Nick Lund of Maine Audubon Association.
On Friday, June 14, U.S. Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine 2nd District, will hold a forum from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Community Center.
Friday Game Nights are from 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays, May 24, May 31 and June 7, and include cribbage, backgammon, Yahtzee and more.
Saturday breakfast cafes are 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays. The May 25 cafe will benefit the 5th of July Fireworks Display; the June 1 cafe will be a potluck, at which households in town will bring breakfast items and the June 8 cafe will be cooked by two households in town.
