HALLOWELL — The Gaslight Theater will hold auditions for its Shakerspeare in the Park performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” which will be staged in collaboration with the Augusta Downtown Alliance in August.
The play will be directed by Richard Bostwick, with assistance from Meg Matheson, and be performed Aug. 15-17 at Waterfront Park in Augusta. Auditions are 6 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Tuesday, May 28, at Hallowell City Hall auditorium, 1 Winthrop St.
City business requests that those auditioning use the front door, on Winthrop Street on May 28 to avoid a meeting in the chambers.
Sections of the play for parts will be determined soon. Those auditioning should read Act 1, Scene 1 for Oberon and Titania; Act 1 S2 for the amateur actors; Act 4 S1 for the young lovers et al ; Act 5 will be used for group readings.
