MOUNT VERNON — Elizabeth Toftner will talk about services offered by AARP in Maine at the Aging in Mount Vernon Forum, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Mount Vernon Community Center.
Toftner’s talk will be followed by a brief explanation about what Aging in Place is, its focuses and goals. There will also be a discussion as to what is working for people as they age in Mount Vernon, and what isn’t working so well.
The forum is open to all, young and old, including caregivers and those who need support. It is an opportunity to help the new Aging in Place Committee discern what the town’s greatest needs are, and what work needs to be accomplished. Refreshments will be served.
Those who need a ride to the forum may contact Neighbors Driving Neighbors at 207-860-0677.
