Free L-A Metro Chamber program looks at leveraging tourist dollars

AUBURN — The L-A Metro Chamber of Commerce will host “Tourism 101,” a look at the 191 million in tourism dollars that are being spent a year in the L-A Metro Region.
The free program will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Central Maine Community College, 1250 Turner St.

The program, from 3 to 5 p.m., will include remarks from U.S. Rep. Jared Golden, D- Maine 2nd District; Maine humorist Gary Crocker, Dina Jackson, economic development specialist/manager at Maine’s Lakes & Mountains Tourism Council; Steve Hewins, president and CEO, HospitalityMaine; Beckie Conrad, president & CEO, LA Metro Chamber; Cyndi Robbins, Poland Spring Resort and co-chair, LA Metro Chamber Tourism Committee.
From 5 to 6 p.m. there will be a reception with refreshments. There will also be door prizes, which will include a one-night stay at Oxford Casino Hotel and dinnerm two greens fees and cart at Poland Spring Golf Course and lunch, a one-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch and breakfast; four tickets for an upcoming LA Maine Brew Bus.
