LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Youth Council will host “Lock in Your Kindness” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the library at Lewiston High School, 156 East Ave.
Members are seeking community participation.
LYAC has recently been facilitating a “Shine on Lewiston” series regarding positive aspects of Lewiston; however, the group is going to redirect for a bit to “shine a light” on the topic of bullying.
LYAC’s Christine Chasse feels very strongly about this nationwide concern and asked her fellow members to reach out locally. At the meeting, LYAC and interested community members will be writing affirming messages on post it notes, and at the end of the evening, the notes will be placed on every Lewiston High School student locker. They hope to write more than 2,000 positive messages to be seen/read by students upon arrival the next morning.
LYAC member Carolyn Adams notes she believes this will be an “awesome bonding experience with community members coming together for this purpose.”
