POLAND — Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting the Natural Resources Conservation Service local work group meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Excelsior Grange, 446 Harris Road, including a free luncheon.
This meeting is open to all residents of Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties and is a very important way of assessing the natural resources concerns as well as the budget allocations for the 2017-2018 for NRCS in these counties. At this meeting, discussion will identify conservation goals, resource concerns, training needs and provide an opportunity to recommend criteria for U.S. Department of Agriculture NRCS conservation funding.
In addition, this is an opportunity to hear about the 2016 fiscal year programs, current local ranking priorities and current funding pool allocations. If you have natural resource concerns that you would like to see addressed or have an interest in learning about NRCS programs and funding allocations, please attend this meeting. Your input is important and considered. RSVP is required by Dec. 1. To do so, contact Jocelyn Lahey at 207-753-9400, ext. 5374, or at jlahey@maineconservationdistricts.com.
