Cat Nutt photography exhibit opens Feb. 16 at RFA Theater

Jan. 312019

RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts is hosting a new exhibit, “Cat Nutt: Photographer,” from Feb. 16 to May 1, at the Lakeside Contemporary Art Gallery, Main Street.
An opening reception to meet the artist will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.

There will be complimentary snacks and a cash bar with beer and wine. The opening is in conjunction with the premiere of an original musical revue at the theater, “Serendipity.”
Nutt’s ardor for photography was passed down by both of her parents, who bought her first professional camera, taught her many perspectives and always encouraged her numerous adventures to chase her potential, according to a news release. What started as hobbies and dreams quickly blossomed into a professional creative career.
In 2009 She attended Lyon College with a generous art scholarship to study both Art and Psychology, hoping to not only see the world but purely experience it and translate that into her own media. Soon after, Cat’s Eye Studio was born. Since then, she has been commissioned for weddings, modeling, travel photography and fine art across the country.
She has expanded her horizons by incorporating an active shooting style with genuine gesture and moody tones. Nutt specializes in lifestyle photography and is showcasing her new project, “Love and Adventure,” where she focuses on her fondness for her home state and the many adventures on which life has taken her.
As a new resident of Rangeley, she hopes to continue growing within the community and aspires to continue her adventures all across her native state and the globe.
