AUGUSTA — Lithgow Public Library will host a Scrabble tournament and a 16mm movie night in Feburary.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Scrabble enthusiasts may gather on Saturday, Feb. 16, for a fast-paced, fun Scrabble tournament hosted by the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta.
Space is limited so pre-registration is required. To register, stop by the library, at 45 Winthrop St., or call 207-626-2415. Players may sign up as an individual or as a team with up to four members.
The tournament is for all levels of Scrabble players, and will be a social tournament in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.
The snow date is Saturday, Feb. 23.
An evening of silent and “soundie” 16mm films will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. Presented by T. Shane Doyle of Rarer Media, the show will include vintage commercials, cartoons, a short movie and more. The snow date for is Thursday, March 7.
