LIBERTY — The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry will hold the 10th annual youth ice fishing derby from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Lake St. George State Park.
The park is on Route 3, 278 Belfast-Augusta Road.
The derby is an opportunity for children to learn how to ice fish. All equipment and bait will be provided; lunch and hot cocoa will be available while supplies last.
There will be a warming hut as well. Preregister in the big white barn before heading out on the ice. The cost for anyone 12 and older is $1.50; those under 12 and over 65 are free.
