ELMIRA, N.Y. — Eliza Beaudin of Lewiston, Maine, was among those hoonored when the nationall ranked Elmira College women’s ice hockey team swept the United Collegiate Hockey Conference weekly awards.
The Division III league announced Jan. 2 that Shannon Strawinski ’19, EBeaudin ’22 and Stephanie Martin ’22 collected UCHC weekly honors after helping Elmira earn a pair of crucial league wins against Nazareth.
Beaudin was named UCHC Rookie of the Week, and produced her first career point and goal streak with strong performances in back-to-back games against Nazareth. It was the second UCHC Rookie of the Week accolade for Beaudine this season.
She scored the game-opening and eventual game-winning goal 1:15 into the second period of the series-opening victory over the Golden Flyers. She then amassed a career-best three points, all on the power play, in EC’s three-goal win the following day. Beaudin was credited with an assist on the game-opening goal, as well as the game-winning goal, before scoring an insurance goal, EC’s fifth tally of the night, late in the third period on the power play.
Strawinski was named the UCHC Player of the Week and Martin secured her second UCHC Goaltender of the Week accolade of the season.
