MANCHESTER — Registration for the Tri-State Greenhouse IPM Program workshop at Longfellow’s Greenhouses closed Friday, Dec. 28.
The program is 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Longfellow’s, 81 Puddledock Road, and is sponsored by University of Maine Cooperative Extension, University of Vermont and University of New Hampshire.
The program is designed for both experienced and novice growers with greenhouses or high tunnels, Extension specialists and professional pest managers. Topics include new pest management strategies, a plant diseases update, a grower-to-grower session and hands-on demonstrations.
Clemson University associate professor and Extension specialist, turf and ornamentals, Juang-Horng Chong will be the featured speaker.
Alicyn Smart, UMaine Extension assistant professor and plant pathologist, and Matthew Wallhead, ornamental horticulture specialist and assistant professor of horticulture, also will lead workshops. The $60 fee includes materials, a hand lens and snacks; lunch is available for $6. Register online by Dec. 28. Up to five pesticide credits are available.
