AUGUSTA – Lewiston Middle School student Damon Dewitt served as an honorary page in the Maine Senate on Feb. 28. Damon was the guest of Sen. Nate Libby, D-Lewiston.
The honorary page program gives students an opportunity to participate in the Senate and interact with legislators, work on the floor of the Senate and be part of a legislative session. Pages perform such duties as delivering messages to senators and distributing amendments and supplements in the chamber, according to a news release from Maine Senate Democrats. Students from third grade through high school are elgible. For more information contact your local state senator.
