Michael Whittemore

HARTFORD – Michael “Mike” Whittemore, 65, of Hartford, died Sunday Feb. 26, at his home. Born on Sept. 29, 1951, in Farmington, the son of Wilfred Whittemore and Eleanor (Jones) Whittemore, he was a 1970 graduate of Jay High School.
Mike served in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga, worked construction as an iron worker and pipe fitter and retired from Bremco. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was member of the AMVETS Post 33 in Jay and American Legion George Bunton Post 10 in Livermore Falls. He enjoyed his family and was known as the “Candy Man” by his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassidy Whittemore and her companion, Nathan Ray of Mechanic Falls; brothers; Doug Whittemore and his wife Debbie of Lehigh Acres, FL, Wayne Whittemore and wife Bouakeo of Livermore Falls; Robert Whittemore and Scott Whittemore both of Jay; sisters, Sharon Johnson and husband John of Jay and Lisa Fitzgerald of Rome. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Patrick and Lawrence.
