MAINE JOB CORPS: Teens and new adults! If you had the opportunity to take part in a life-changing experience that gave you the skills you need to succeed in today’s job market, and it didn’t cost anything, would you be interested? If so, the Job Corps may be for you! Contact Hanya Phillips of the Maine Job Corps (207-450-0216) to find out more about this program and who is eligible. She will then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet with you at the Auburn Public Library.
TWEENS IN THE TEEN SPACE, WEDNESDAYS, MARCH 1, 8, 22 AND 29, 12 TO 2 P.M., TEEN SPACE: Sixth-graders are invited to join us in the Teen Space on the second floor on half-day Wednesdays. We’ll have crafts or board games available or you can stop by to simply hang out or to get a head start on your homework!
TEEN ANIME CLUB: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1, 4 TO 5 P.M., ANDROSCOGGIN COMMUNITY ROOM: Get animated over anime! Teens, ages 12 to 18, can drop in to talk about their favorite (or least favorite) manga, watch this week’s selection of anime, and try drawing their own characters. This program was made possible by a generous gift of the P&G Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Snacks will be provided.

Stop by on Thursdays between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. for help in any subject which is giving you difficulty. This program is just for teens, ages 12 to 18, and takes place on the 2nd floor.
TEENS! FRIDAY AT THE MOVIES: HOOSIERS OR SPACE JAM, FRIDAY, MARCH 3, 4 TO 5:30 P.M., ANDROSCOGGIN COMMUNITY ROOM: Teens! Join us in the Androscoggin Community Room on the 1st Friday of each month to relax and enjoy a movie! With March comes March Madness. This month, we’ll choose between two popular basketball movies — Hoosiers or Space Jam (teen choice) — both rated PG. This program is just for teens, ages 12 to 18, and will include a snack!
TEEN TECH WEEK: BE THE SOURCE OF CHANGE, CREATE! MEDIA LAB OPEN HOUSE, MONDAY, MARCH 6, 2:30 TO 4:30 P.M., CREATE! MEDIA LAB: Teens! Join us as we kick off Teen Tech Week 2017 with an open house in the CREATE! Media Lab. We’ll have all 3 computers on, each one offering a different activity! Stop by to see how to import a film clip taken from in front of the green screen and add a background, let us hear your voice using the blue yeti microphones, or have some fun with photo booth. Stop by anytime between 2:30 and 4:30!

TEEN LIFE SKILLS SERIES 2017: THE JOB APPLICATION, TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 3 TO 4 P.M., ANDROSCOGGIN COMMUNITY ROOM: Lisa Hartnett of the Career Center will be here to talk with you about how to look and apply for a job. Whether you are looking for your first, part-time job or nearing the end of high school and are looking for full-time employment, the information she provides will be essential toward your success.
TEENS! GAMING HOUR, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, AND FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 4 TO 5 P.M., ANDROSCOGGIN COMMUNITY ROOM: Take a break from studying and stop by the Androscoggin Room on lower level for video games and snacks. We have XBox and Wii and a small collection of games. Teens are welcome to bring their favorites, but only those rated T and E. Just for teens, ages 12 to 18, this program was made possible by donations from the P&G Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and the law firm of Norman, Hanson and DeTroy.
SAFE VOICES DROP-IN VISIT, THURSDAY, MARCH 9, 3 TO 4 P.M., TEEN SPACE: Teens! Stop by the Teen Space and visit with Safe Voices. On the second Thursday of each month, join Whitney for some great information and conversation on relationships, along with crafts or games to share! This program is just for teens, ages 12 to 18.
SCREENAGERS: GROWING UP IN THE DIGITAL AGE, THURSDAY, MARCH 9, 6 TO 7:30 P.M., ANDROSCOGGIN COMMUNITY ROOM: Join us for a special screening of “Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age.” Directed by Delaney Ruston, a physician and parent of teenagers, “Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists and brain scientists, “Screeenagers” reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance” (taken from screenagersmovie.com).Following the movie (runtime 68 minutes), please stay for a short panel discussion (30 minutes). This screening is free to the public, open to parents of children of all ages (teens, tweens and their parents are especially encouraged to attend), and is made possible by a grant from the Maine Public Library Fund and the Psychology Department at Bates College. Lisa Hartnett from the Career Center is back with us again, this time to share tips and advice on the interview process and how you can interview for the job with confidence. In the Community Room, just for teens, ages 12 to 18.
TEENS! DIY TAKEOVER: ZENTANGLE, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15, 4 TO 5 P.M., TEEN SPACE: Teens! Join us in the Teen Space on the third Wednesday of each month for a do-it-yourself craft! Some of the things we’ve done include duct tape crafts, mug cakes and sugar scrub, just to name a few! This month, we’ll show our artistic flair with Zentangle! Not sure what it is? SAPARS DROP IN VISIT, THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 3 TO 4 P.M., TEEN SPACE: Visit with Hannah from Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services. Each month, she will visit to discuss and create awareness of teen issues like healthy relationships, sexual assault, bullying, harassment, substance use/abuse and internet safety. Just for teens, this event takes place in the Teen Space and may include snacks!
TEEN LIFE SKILLS 2017: TEEN OPPORTUNITIES FAIR, SATURDAY, MARCH 25, 11 A.M. TO 1 P.M., LEWISTON PUBLIC LIBRARY: Looking for an internship or volunteer opportunity? Not sure if you should be taking classes or enrolling in college? Trying to apply for a job online but have no idea where to start? Come out to the sixth annual Teen Opportunities Fair! Lewiston Public Library and Auburn Public Library have partnered to bring you this helpful and exciting event. There will be food and door prizes! This event takes place in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library and is just for teens, ages 13 to 19.
TEEN LIFE SKILLS 2017: 10 TIPS FOR TEENS, TUESDAY, MARCH 28, 3 TO 4 P.M., ANDROSCOGGIN COMMUNITY ROOM: The second in a series of three classes, 10 Tips for Teens is where you’ll learn how to add more fruits and veggies to your day while learning basic cooking skills. We will make and EAT a recipe each class and play games (with prizes)! Join Missy from Healthy Androscoggin for this series, which is just for teens ages 12 to 18. For our planning purposes, registration is requested.
