FARMINGTON — The Old South First Congregational Church will hold a pair of events in November — one a part of its concert series and the other a fundraiser for youth camper scholarships.
Bon Debarras, a French Canadian trio whose name means “Good Riddance,” will perform Thursday, Nov. 1.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a jam session kicking off at 6:15 p.m.; Bon Debarras will take the stage at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be available by donation.
For ticket prices and to make reservations, call 207-491-5919. For more information about the band, visit www.bondebarras.ca/en.
The annual Harvest Supper will be held at the church from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Proceeds will benefit Old South Church youth camperships to United Church of Christ Pilgrim Lodge on Lake Cobbosseecontee in West Gardiner.
The camperships have been made available to youth for decades and have provided a camp experience for hundreds of children over the years, with many past campers still involved with Pilgrim Lodge as councilors. In many cases, there are second-generation campers joining the fun for a theme-focused week each summer.
The camp includes swimming and boating areas on the lake, nature and hiking trails through wooded areas, an outdoor chapel and open playing fields. Visit www.pilgrimlodge.org to learn more about the available programs for youth, adults and families.
The Harvest Supper menu will include roast turkey and baked ham, traditional side dishes, pie for dessert and beverages.
For more information about ticket prices and family rates, call 207-778-0424 or 207-299-3686.
