FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will host Ronald Butler, who will discuss “Native Bees with and Emphasis on Bumble Bees,” at its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Butler, a professor of ecology at the University of Maine Farmington, also spoke to the club in April on dragonflies and damselflies. Many members requested his return to share his knowledge of bees.
The public is welcome to attend, and find out about the importance of the bumble bee in the environment.
The meeting will begin with a social half hour at 12:30 p.m., with a short business meeting and then Butler’s presentation.
It will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Farmington Falls Road. Hostesses are Annette Tripp, Mary McFarland and Peg Lang, who will provide light refreshments.
