AUBURN — Author Melissa Kim and Audubon educator Molly Woodring will be at the Auburn Public Library Monday, Oct. 1, to discuss owls with children.
Kim is the author of “A Snowy Owl Story,” named one of the best bird books by the National Audubon Society. She will be joined by Woodring, who will bring owl mounts of Maine owls from the Maine Audubon Society. Children will have the opportunity to examine the owl mounts and talons. They will also be able to listen to owl calls. Kim will read her book and afterwards will show children how to draw owl shapes.
The program, which is from 6 to 7 p.m. at the library, 49 Spring St., is best for children 6 and up. It is free, but tickets must be reserved by visiting the library or calling 207-333-6640. Kim’s book will be available for sale.
