TURNER – Take heart. Spring is just around the corner and the Turner Public Library has announced its Spring Gardening Seminars to be held Saturday, April 15. This year’s featured speakers are Edith Ellis from Sunnyside Gardens on North Parish Road in Turner and Amy Leblanc from Whitehill Farm in East Wilton. Ellis, landscape designer and avid traveler, will speak on English garden design. Leblanc, best known as the Tomato Lady, will speak on her beloved heirloom varieties.
There will be free coffee and Ricker Farm donuts, plants and other goodies for sale and an array of door prizes – watch for details.
For now, look for the first crocuses and robins and mark the date – Saturday, April 15 at 9 a.m. See you downstairs in the Community Room at the Leavitt Institute Building, 98 Matthews Way.
