Western Maine Cancer Resource Center to host ‘Look Good Feel Better’ event

NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine will host a “Look Good Feel Better” session for those going through cancer treatment as part of its September offerings.
The session, put on by Stephens Memorial Hospital, will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the center, which is in the hospital’s specialty care clinic building, 199 Main St.

Volunteer beauty professionals will offer suggestions with skin care, wig selection, scarves and other concerns.
In other September happenings, self-Reflexology with Karen Tibbetts returns to the center at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
Drop in hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, when volunteers are available to provide comfort items, such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or to help find resources. There are also many pamphlets and a lending library available.
The center is also a place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, chat with a volunteer or take time or participate in scheduled programs. Activities such as coloring, knitting and games are available at all times.
