Aug. 192018

LEWISTON — The LA Metro Chamber will host a Power Lunch Seminar, “Energy Listening Tour,” sponsored by Community Health Options, Maine State Chamber of Commerce and The Nature Conservancy.
The workshop will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in the LA Metro Chamber’s conference room at 415 Lisbon St.

The Maine State Chamber and The Nature Conservancy are interested in learning about the business leaders’ opinions about energy in Maine to better understand perspectives on energy as markets and public policies continue to evolve. Ben Gilman from the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Rob Wood, from The Nature Conservancy in Maine will present the Power Lunch Seminar. Participation is directed towards small to medium for-profit business owners, CEO’s, presidents, and senior-level staff with significant decision-making authority to engage a representative sample of the small to medium-size business whose voice is not typically heard in the energy conversation at the state level with a maximum of 12 in attendance.
The seminar will be moderated by a professional focus group facilitator who will follow a structured set of questions to understand:
* Participants’ attitudes towards energy sources * Perceptions of the cost and benefits of energy sources * Sensitivity to price of energy * Views of current and proposed public policies related to energy
* Difference of opinion about various resources including wind, solar, hydropower, and biomass
Power Lunches are sponsored by Community Health Options. The seminar is free, but participants should register. Lunch will not be provided. Registration is available at www.LAMetroChamber.com. For questions, call 207-783-2249.
