LEWISTON — Amanda Scott, M.D., has joined St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center’s Rheumatology Department.
Scott completed both her pre-medical program and doctorate of Medicine at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies.
She went on to a residency in internal medicine at Overlook Medical Center, in affiliation with the Ichan School of Medicine, at Mount Sinai in Summit, N.J. Before joining St. Mary’s Rheumatology, Scott was a rheumatology fellow at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
“Arthritis is a painful disease that impacts the lives of so many of our friends and family members,” said Scott. “I love my work because I can help to alleviate a patient’s suffering by slowing the disease’s progression. This empowers my patients to enjoy a better quality of life.”
“We are very happy to have Dr. Scott join St. Mary’s Rheumatology,” said Christopher Bowe, MD and chief medical officer, St. Mary’s Health System. “Her focus on quality outcomes combined with excellent patient care makes her a wonderful addition to our team.”
