LEWISTON — Museum L/A’s future home on Beech Street, L/A’s Gendron Franco Center on Oxford and Cedar streets, and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Hogan Road are three of the locations hosting parts of Lewiston/Auburn’s Festival Weekend 2018. Events include Dance Party Under the Stars II, the premier of the L/A Poutine Feast-ival and Pichenotte Tournament, and the two-day, annual Lewiston-Auburn Greek Festival.
“We are excited to be hosting our first event at the future home of Museum L-A,” said Rachel Desgrosseilliers, executive director at the museum. “Imagine a beautiful evening under a starry, moonlit sky, and you and your guests are rockin’ with the music of the locally-renowned ‘Good & Plenty’ band with the sounds of the ’70s and ’80s to enjoy!”
Dance Party Under the Stars II will help kick off the weekend Friday, Sept. 7, from 7 to 11 p.m. The event will be at Museum L/A’s future home, conveniently situated on the shores of the beautiful Androscoggin River, near Simard/Payne Park and the footbridge that spans the river to Bonney Park in Auburn. The evening starts with fine dining at local restaurants that are partnering with Museum L-A to offer discounts or themed specialty drinks or meals to enhance the Dance Party experience. Following dinner, there will be an array of desserts crafted by Lewiston Regional Technical Center culinary arts students from The Green Ladle.

Tickets are $50 in advance and $55 at the gate. The Gendron Franco Center will host the first L/A Poutine Feast-ival Saturday, Sept. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. outside and inside the Franco Center, 46 Oxford St.
“The corner of Oxford and Cedar streets will become a block party with food trucks serving your favorite Québécois poutine!” said Francis Gagnon, the event’s volunteer coordinator. “Inside the magnificent building, the Franco Center will open the bar and the kitchen with Franco favorites such as pea soup, meat pie and beans and hot dogs, to name a few.” A competitive pichenotte board-game tournament will begin at 3 p.m. for the L/A Pichenotte crown title trophy. “Start practicing your skills to meet the challenge against 40 other teams,” said Gagnon.
