Central, western Maine farms recognized by state

AUGUSTA — Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Commissioner Walt Whitcomb recently recognized several farm operations in Androscoggin, Franklin and Kennebec counties for their entrepreneurial excellence as part of an ongoing effort to recognize examples of developing and thriving businesses contributing to Maine’s growing natural resource economy. They are:

* Nezinscot Farm, 284 Turner Center Road, Turner –Exemplary, diversified farm that is a must-see destination for consumers interested in locally produced products.
* Dreamin’ Fahm, 1244 Main St., Wilton — An exemplary array of all-natural products and goods, including eggs, raw goat milk and goat milk products.
* Sandy River Farms, 560 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington — Practicing sound conservation and maintaining sensible and sustainable farming operations.
* Stevenson’s Strawberries, 271 Tucker Road, Wayne — Pick your own strawberries, fruits and vegetables.
