AUGUSTA — International Literacy Day will be celebrated in the Maine State Museum/Library Atrium on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at which participants may meet Maine authors, listen to storytellers, make a bookmark, learn about agriculture in the classroom and local adult education programs.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta and Maine Agriculture in the Classroom.
The Maine State Library and Museum is at 230 State St., next to the Maine State House.
