NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital is offering a seminar on the DASH Diet to Lower High Blood Pressure from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office Building, 193 Main St.
DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. The DASH diet is a lifelong approach to healthy eating that’s designed to help treat or prevent high blood pressure (hypertension). The DASH diet encourages you to reduce sodium in your diet and eat a variety of foods rich in nutrients that help lower blood pressure.
Join Stephens Memorial Hospital’s registered dietitian Pat Watson to learn more about this eating plan while sampling delicious, low-sodium, heart-healthy recipes. DASH diet booklets and recipes will be provided.
There is no cost for this program. For more information or to register, please call 743-1562, ext. 6896.
