OAKLAND — The theme of the Oakland Public Library’s summer reading program is “Libraries Rock!”.
The five-week program kicks off with a musical program by Judy Pancoast at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, in the children’s room.
Pancoast is a Grammy Award nominee for Best Musical Album for Children; she provides a true interaction between her performance and her audience.
The summer reading program at the Oakland Public Library is designed to encourage children to keep reading during the summer vacation, library officials said.
The public library is the only community space available during the summer where may families can access free educational and cultural enrichment activities and programs.
All other programs also will be at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays.
