FAYETTE — Donations are being accepted for a yard sale and silent auction to raise moneys for Starling Hall on Route 17.
The hall was moved back from the road last winter and now needs the utilities reconnected. Your donations will help get the hall usable again.
This fundraiser will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Fayette Central School on Main Street.
The Friends of Starling hall are able to accept clean items in working order; they cannot accept computer monitors, TVs, printers or upholstered furniture. Flat screen TVs are the exception.
Donations can be dropped off Friday, July 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. or Saturday morning around 8 a.m. at the school. Anyone want to rent a table to sell their own items may do so with an advanced reservation.
Inside the school, donated crafts and locally-produced goods will be available by competitive bidding. There is something for everyone. Items already collected include kitchen baskets; a 1960’s hand-carved Asian travel size cribbage board; vintage garden decor, jewelry, art work, garden clogs, a vintage canoe and gift certificates to local businesses.
There will be a quilt raffle featuring a blanket with turquoise, gray and white half-square triangles made by Ann Young. The quilt is currently on display at the Fayette town office, where tickets may be purchased in advance of the fundraiser..
