Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine Garden Tour, kayaking on July schedule

NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine will offer a Garden Tour and a kayaking wellness program on its July calendar.
The center is in the Stephens Hospital Specialty Clinic building, 199 Main S., and offers free programs to cancer survivors, caregivers and anyone impacted by cancer.

The Garden Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Bob and Mary Van Nest Farm, 265 Old Stage Road.

Later in the month, beginning 9 to 11 a.m., the center will a offer a Weekly Kayaking Wellness program at Pennesseewassee Park on Route 118. Participants will meet at the boat launch and should bring their own kayak, life jacket, paddle board or canoe.

Beginning Tuesdsay, July 10, the center will offer drop-in hours from 3 to 7 p.m. in addition to its 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday hours. New visitors are welcomed to stop by for information and to join in one or all of their activities. Volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or to look for resources. The center has pamphlets and a lending library. The center is also a place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea or chat with a volunteer Activities such as coloring, knitting or games are available at all times.
