TURNER — The town’s July 3 fireworks will be held at Ricker Hill Orchards. The Ricker-Timberlake-Maheu family has offered use of their family farm for the event, according to organizers.
Those who attend do not have to be from Turner. All activities will start at 4 p.m. at the farm, 295 Buckfield Road.
Food vendors will include Turner Rescue, Turner Fire, Turners Boy Scout Troop 187, Jasmine Cafe, Fireworks Pizza and The Lonestar Legend BBQ, with food for sale including burgers, hot dogs, pizza, Texas bbq and Asian. There will also be bounce houses and activities for kids.
Those attending may bring lawn chairs or blankets. The fireworks display will start at 9 p.m. or shortly after. Several fundraisers this year raised money for the fireworks, including bake sales, bbq lunches, toll roads, bottle drives and a medium came at the Boofy Quimby Memorial Center.
There were also donation buckets at local businesses and fundraisers at Moon Stone Pottery. Local businesses offered to help by making donations, including Caldwell Farms, Community Credit Union, Splash Trucking, Moody’s Collision Center, Otis Federal Credit Union, Hood Farms, Hanson’s Auto and Kidspeak Therapy Services.
There are still donation buckets around town and at the fireworks.
