NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine recently celebrated National Cancer Survivor Day with a luncheon for survivors and caregivers at the center.
More than 50 cancer survivors and caregivers enjoyed lunch donated by the Oxford Hannaford supermarket.
Guests received handmade butterflies to take home, and also enjoyed other activities including placing their personal butterfly celebrating survivorship on a tree.
A variety of door prizes, including several gift certificates, cook books, plants and Hannaford shopping bags were given away. Any survivor who could not attend is invited to drop by the center, located at 199 Main St., between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday or Friday, the center’s regular drop-in hours, to pick up a butterfly.
The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine offers a variety of programs as well as comfort items, free to anyone impacted by cancer.
