MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Town Council officially appointed Zakk Maher, of Poland, to take over as town manager when Koriene Low’s contract expires at the end of August.
The council vote was June 4.
Maher comes to Mechanic Falls with a strong background of community and economic development, according to a news release from the town. Most recently he was vice president of lending for Community Concepts Finance Corporation, a local non-profit focused on providing financial empowerment services across western Maine.
“We needed to find someone who had a solid background in business as well as community building” said Lou Annance, town council chairman. “We believe he has the experience and the passion necessary to build on the progress made by the current town manager.”
