Theater at Monmouth season to open June 23 with ‘Pride@Prejudice’

MONMOUTH — The Theater at Monmouth’s 2018 summer pepertory season opens with the Daniel Elihu Kramer production of “Pride@Prejudice,” a deconstruction of the classic Jane Austen novel “Pride and Prejudice.”
Playfully reinvented with modern-day characters the homage to one of the world’s most popular love stories is delivered with humor, wit and just a little sass, theater officals said.

The opening performance is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23 and runs through Aug. 17, including matinee and evening performances on both weekdays and weekends.
“Pride@Prejudice” features Katie Croyle as Elizabeth Bennet; Marshall Taylor Thurman as Mr. Darcy; KP Powell as Mr. Bennet/Mr. Bingley/Sir William/ Footman/Doctor/Mr. Wickham/Mr. Gardiner/ Colonel Fitzwilliam; Amber McNew as Jane Bennet/Caroline Bingley/Lydia/ Mary/Lady Catherine/Georgiana/Jane Austen; and Bibi Mama as Mrs. Bennet/Charlotte/Mrs. Gardiner/Miss de Bourgh. Set design is by by Stacey Koloski, costume design by Jonna Klaiber, lighting design by Jim Alexander, and sound design by Rew Tippin.
Additional performance dates are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 7 (with a post-show discussion), Wednesday, July 11; Thursday, Aug. 2; Wednesday, Aug. 15; Friday, Aug. 17 and 1 p.m. performance dates are Sunday, July 22; Saturday, July 28; and Thursday, Aug. 9.
