AUBURN — Rehearsals are nearing the end for the upcoming Community Little Theatre production of the famous courtroom drama “12 Angry Men,” which will open on Friday, June 8.
Directed by Jackie McDonald, “12 Angry Men” is a dramatic play by Reginald Rose adapted from his 1954 teleplay of the same title. This award-winning drama takes place within a small New York City jury room in the 1950s, on “the hottest day of the year,” as 12 men debate the fate of a young defendant charged with murdering his father. The play never reveals whether the defendant is innocent or guilty; it is about whether the jury has a reasonable doubt about his guilt. Tension mounts as the jurors’ different backgrounds, beliefs, and personalities clash as they debate the young man’s fate.
“Twelve Angry Men” will be performed on June 8, 9, 14, 15 AND 16 at 8 p.m. and June 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center, 30 Academy St. More information is available online at www.laclt.com.
