Author, farmer Hagerty to speak at Hiram Historical Society June 9

HIRAM — Peter Hagerty of Porter farms with horses — tilling, haying, logging — the old sustainable way. He will be the speaker in a joint program of the Hiram Historical Society and Soldiers Memorial Library at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9.

The program will be at the Great Ossippee Museum of the historical society, 20 Historical Ridge, off Main Street. Hagerty is a founder of Peace Fleece with his wife, Marty Tracey and will talk about his book “Out Watering Horses.” The program is free and light refreshments will be served.
