RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts is offering three week-long day-camps for youth this summer at the RFA Lakeside Theater, two drama camps for different age groups and a music camp.
Drama Camp for ages 7 to 12 will be held July 9 to 13. It is led by Anne Crump, who earned a BFA in acting from Drake University and studied at the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. The camp meets from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and will include pantomime, story-telling, creating characters, environments, emotions, improvisations and creative movement.
Teen Drama Week is July 30 to Aug. 3, and is for ages 13 to 18. It will be led by Lindsay (MacNaughton) Hinojosa, a theater artist and educator from Brooklyn, N.Y. She is a performer and director for the award-winning performance troupe and media company Story Pirates. The camp meets from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and will feature creative ways to explore character development, movement and story-telling.
Westerhoff/RFA Music Camp is Aug. 6 to 10 for ages 8 to 18 for all instruments and voice, with camp leader David Iskowitz of the Westerhoff School of Music and instructor Timothy Macek of Howard University, and others. The camp meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and will include individual instruction, practice, performance, group lessons, music-making and musicianship classes.
