Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine to host Survivor Day luncheon

NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine has planned several activities for June, including two special events.
National Cancer Survivor Day will be celebrated June 1 with a luncheon, door prizes and more from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 20 there will be a Welcome Summer wellness event at Posabilities, 15 Tannery St., from 12:45 to 4 p.m. Changes to the winter schedule include moving the exercise class, Banding to Restore at Bader Physical Therapy in Norway to Mondays; Self Reiki will meet Tuesday, June 26.
the center is at at Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building, 199 Main St.
All programs offered by the center are free to anyone impacted by cancer, survivors and caregivers, and are encouraged to bring a friend with them. New visitors are welcomed to stop by for information any Thursday or Friday and to join in one or all of their activities.
Drop in hours are every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or look for resources for patients. They have many pamphlets and a lending library. The center is also a place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, chat with a volunteer or take time for yourself by participating in scheduled activities. Activities such as coloring, knitting or games are available at all times.
