National EMS Week noted by Delta, other emergency services

WATERVILLE — This year, National Emergency Medical Services Week, initiated by President Gerald Ford in 1974, is May 20-27. The 2018 theme is EMS Strong – Stronger Together.
National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s front line.

Delta Ambulance will kick off the week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at its Waterville Station, 29 Chase Ave. on May 19. There were equipment displays from various departments and organizations including Kennebec County EMA’s communication trailer, Delta’s Specialty Support trailer, the Seat-belt Convincer, rescue apparatus and more.
there will also be a bounce house for the kids, a day-long cookout, music, Mix 107 live radio broadcast and Delta Station tours. The event is free. Visit Deltaemsme on Facebook for information.
