Wayne Farmers’ Market opens for season May 26

WAYNE — The Wayne Farmers’ Market will open for its 10th season on Saturday, May 26. The market is on Main Street (Route 133) next to the post office, and will be open from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday until Labor Day weekend.

Growers and producers will bring a wide variety of local food items, including vegetables, herbs, eggs, poultry, meat, cheese, pepper jellies, maple products, baked goods, pesto and dips. Fruit and cut flowers will be available in season. There will also be flowering plants and seedlings for the garden, body care products, goats milk soap, and pottery for the home. There will also be live music and cooking demonstrations using food items from the vendors. Shoppers can arrive by canoe or kayak, since the market is located on Mill Pond, at the outlet of Pocasset Lake. The market aims to support area growers and producers and “[we] hope that everyone will come to shop, socialize, interact with the vendors, learn a little, relax on one of the benches, listen to music, look for loons on the pond, and enjoy the outdoor setting,” organizers said.
