Monmouth’s May Faire to include plant sale, food, parade and more

MONMOUTH — The 33rd annual May Faire, sponsored by Friends of Cumston Public Library, will be held Saturday, May 19.
The fair, which includes a plant sale, food and more, will be from 9 to 1 p.m. on the lawns, porches, Caucus Room, Reception Room and front parking lots of Cumston Hall on Main Street.

Featured will be home-grown perennials from local gardens and annuals from Gingerbread Farms, Wayne, and vegetables from H.L. Cottrell’s Children’s Gardens.
Monmouth Museum will sell collectibles and oddities, both new and old. FOCL’s Lobster Rolls will be under the archway, with seating area. The Junior Fire Department will offer hamburgers and hot dogs. The United Church will have a bake table with pies, quiches, bars, cupcakes and more.
Gently used books will also be sold, and vendors’ stalls will include crafts, embroidery, weaving, books, fabric, jewelry, doll clothes during the day.
Activities will include making masks and noise-makers at 11 a.m. These will be used for a parking lot parade scheduled for 11:30. Additional activities during the day will include simple wand-making for May fairies, gnomes, and other sprites, as well as chalk art, face-painting and more.
All proceeds support programs of Cumston Public Library.
