MOUNT VERNON — The annual Mount Vernon village bird walk sponsored by Dr. Shaw Memorial Library, will be at 4 p.m. Monday, May 14.
Lead by Dona Seegers and Linda Smith, participants will watch for song birds, water birds, birds of prey or whatever is flying, perched in a tree or gliding on water.
Those taking part should bring binoculars, if possible, as well as a notebook and pen to record sightings, and wear comfortable shoes. Long sleeves and a hat will protect against black flies.
All are invited to participate in and enjoy this walk together around the village, which usually takes about an hour.
Some parking is available at the Masonic Hall, as well as limited parking at the library.
