AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston Airport board of directors voted at their April meeting to select Gale Associates Inc. for on-call airport planning and engineering services.
Gale will assist the Auburn-Lewiston Airport with upcoming infrastructure projects, funded jointly by the Cities of Auburn and Lewiston, the Federal Aviation Administration, and Maine Department of Transportation.
Gale brings more than 25 years of airport planning and engineering expertise to Auburn-Lewiston Airport, and their selection comes as the airport embarks on a multi-year implementation of major capital improvement projects. The upcoming projects are part of a rolling five-year plan, and include reconstruction of both the airport’s runways, safety area improvements, new fueling facilities, and the rehabilitation of aircraft aprons. This new partnership will enhance the technical strength of the Airport’s team, as they begin these significant and much needed facility upgrades.
Auburn-Lewiston Airport is a public use general aviation facility, jointly owned by the cities of Auburn and Lewiston, situated entirely within the City of Auburn with two runways and approximately 65 aircraft based at LEW. Support facilities include rental car services, aircraft maintenance, and 100LL and Jet-A fuel.
