CMCC annual awards presented at dinner

AUBURN — The Education Foundation and its board of directors recently held Central Maine Community College’s 11th Annual Dinner at Lewiston’s Ramada Conference Center.
More than a dozen individuals and businesses were recognized at the dinner for their contributions during the 2017-18 school year.

President Scott Knapp noted technological advances, such as new 3-D printers, the growth in federal grant money and a new generator plant he hopes will pay for itself in eight years.
The following awards were presented:

Adjunct Faculty — Aurelie Bush
Faculty Member — June Roberts-Sherman
Staff Person — Judi Moreno
Corporate Partner — Skelton, Taintor & Abbott
President’s Award — Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments
Female Student Athlete — Kristina Blais
Male Student Athlete — Alex Biron
Veteran of the Year — Ron Fowler
Scholarship Recipient — Jessie Shiers
“Yes, I Can” Award — Cathy Gray
“Against All Odds” Award — Scott McClellan
Student of the Year — William Rolfe
