Auburn looking for help planning 150th celebration

May. 122018

AUBURN – The year 2019 will mark the 150th anniversary of Auburn’s transition from a town to a city.
To celebrate, Mayor Jason Levesque is seeking community members and organizations that would like to be
part of the planning and coordination of city-wide activities for the celebration.

For the remainder of 2018, the 150th Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee will meet the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St. Anyone interested in serving on one of the five work groups — school-related events and programs, city-wide events and programs, fundraising efforts, historical connections and media/promotional items — should try to attend the meeting.
To learn more about the event, the committee or workgroups, contact Sabrina Best, recreation director, at sbest@auburnmaine.gov or 207-333-6601, ext. 2101.
