CMCC, KVCC students named to All-Maine Academic Team

AUGUSTA — Students from Central Maine Community College and Kennebec Valley Community College are among 18 named to the All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges by the national Phi Theta Kappa organization.
The students will be honored by their individual colleges at events being held this spring.

In addition, KVCC’s Sonya Dodson, of Burnham, and Northern Maine Community College’s Jacob Chouinard, of Forth Kent, were named Maine New Century Scholars in recognition of having achieved the highest scores in the state on their All-USA Academic Team applications.
The students receiving the award, which includes a $500 scholarship from the MCCS Board of Trustees, are:
Central Maine Community College: Angela Cafarelli, of Greene, and Mark Swiedom, of Hebron.
Kennebec Valley Community College: Dodson and Sharon Coolen, of Unity.
Eastern Maine Community College: Meaghan Brown, of Hermon; Tiffany Sanborn, of Milo; Jacob Tuell, of Glenburn.
Northern Maine Community College: Chounard, as well as Genesis Hart, of Atlantic City, N.J., and Brad Plourde, of Eagle Lake.
Southern Maine Community College: Claudia Johnson, of Islesboro, and Phyllis Mazzaglia, of Londonderry, N.H.
Washington County Community College: Kaitlin Barrett, of Calais; Jamison Bernoudy, of Lincoln, Vt.; Kari Galdeen, of North Muskegon, Mich.; Ross Norton, Lincoln, Vt.
York County Community College: Beth Carroll, of Berwick, and Debra Harding, of Sanford.
