Stephens Memorial Hospital offers snowshoe hike, DASH diet

NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will host a sunset hike up the backside of Streaked Mountain beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31.
Also on the agenda, the DASH — Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension — diet will be explained at a class Tuesday, April 3.

The hike is led by Lorie Olson and hikers will be able to explore nature, catch the sunset and watch the moon rise.
Snowshoes are optional. Anyone interested in carpooling can meet at the Ripley Medical Office Building parking lot, 193 Main St., at 5:15 p.m. The series is free to all, but registration is required. To register, visit www.wmh.coursestorm.com.
The DASH diet session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 3 in the Harper Conference Center.
The diet offers healthy benefits besides lowering blood pressure. TheH diet is in line with dietary recommendations to prevent osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
