OTISFIELD –The Otisfield Historical Society’s first program for 2018 will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Community Hall, 292 Oxford Road.
Following a brief business meeting and the annual election of officers, the meeting with focus on Electrifying Otisfield, a timely topic for those many Otisfielders who recently experienced a complete loss of electricity.
Using a power point presentation, a panel of OHS members will explore the beginnings of electric power in the state of Maine and the introduction of electricity to town Sept. 20, 1928, as recorded in the diaries of Eva Elliot and Arthur Bean and documents from the household of Annette Pottle. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All are welcome.
