LEWISTON — The L-A Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce has two events planned for mid-April that play April fools with with the usual chamber events — a Business Before Hours and a Breakfast for Dinner session. “So, no fooling, we are mixing things up in response to some chamber investors who want to attend our programs but can’t make the usual times,” the chamber said in a news release.
At 7 a.m. Thursday, April 12, the L-A Metro Chamber will host Business Before Hours at House of Bacon, 34 Court St., Auburn. There is no registration or cost to attend.
It is the regular chamber breakfast day and time, but will be business networking similar to what’s usually done in after-work sessions. Just like Business After Hours, only before hours.
Participants may stop by between 7 and 9 a.m. for food, fun, networking and prizes.
At 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, the chamber will host breakfast for dinner at Martindale Country Club, 527 Beech Hill Road, Auburn. Cost is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

“It’ll be just like breakfast, but at dinner,” the chamber said. “We will be introducing new members, sponsors, having a speaker, 50/50 and door prizes.”
The speaker will be Alan Hahnel, president of Hahnel Bros. Co., who sill speak on “Working the Workforce: Challenges and Solutions to Finding Employees.” Like many employers in the region, Hahnel Bros. Co. is facing a workforce shortage to meet the demands of the growing economy. Alan has successfully used local programs to find and keep employees.
Hahnel Bros. Co. has embraced the changing nature of the workforce and found success by using multiple strategies, the chamber said.
The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce serves Lewiston, Auburn and the surrounding communities.
