OXFORD — The next workshop in the Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District’s late winter/spring series will be for those who would like to learn how to raise chickens in their backyard.
Topics will include deciding where the chickens will live, creating a suitable environment, bringing baby chicks home,important health notes and ongoing chick care.
The workshop will be led by Linda Hooker of Hooker Family Farm in Oxford and Lori Hill, assistant manager at Tractor Supply Co., Route 26, where the event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24.
Hooker and Hill will take participants through the steps, from buying to raising baby chicks, with lots of helpful advice thrown in.
