Good Shepherd Food Bank officials meet with Collins

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, met recently with leadership from the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Auburn in her Washington, D. C. office. President Kristen Miale, right, and Director of Public Affairs Clara McConnell provided Collins with an update on the Food Bank’s work and spoke about the importance of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). “The dedicated staff and volunteers at Good Shepherd Food Bank work tirelessly to provide millions of nutritious meals to low-income individuals and families across Maine each year. Through its partnerships with farms, businesses, shelters, and other organizations, Good Shepherd is making invaluable contributions in the fight to eradicate hunger,” said Collins. Established in 1981, Good Shepherd Food Bank distributes food to more than 400 partner agencies across Maine, including food pantries, meal sites, and schools. In addition to providing food to Mainers in need, Good Shepherd Food Bank is leading a statewide effort to combat the root causes of hunger by engaging in advocacy, nutrition education, and strategic partnerships.
